Agroverse, a recently founded startup company, has announced that it has secured a €200K funding round just three months after its establishment. The funding was signed in December 2022, with TECS Capital, which invests in emerging technologies with a focus on sustainability and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Agroverse's founders, Dimitris Koutras and Yiorgos Bontzios, recognized the challenges faced by farmers in their daily tasks and joined forces to create a powerful robotic tool that will become the workforce of today's farmers. Dimitris, who grew up in a rural region, witnessed the difficulties of agriculture firsthand and came up with the idea of a robot to help farmers with their daily tasks. Yiorgos, with many years of experience in the startup ecosystem, believed in the idea right from start, and together they are set to create the first-ever agricultural robot-as-a-service in Greece.
The first version of Agroverse's agricultural robot will be available in April and will provide weeding and spraying services. Yiorgos believes that this machinery will revolutionize the agricultural industry, while Dimitris is already working on the new version of the robot that will deliver new services to farmers and their plantations. “Our vision is a world where farmers can afford to rest. We are set to make it happen.” said Yiorgos.
